About Me

Catriona is a Scottish theatre-maker based in Glasgow, working across new writing, contemporary performance, and children’s theatre. Her practice is rooted in female-led narratives and the development of original work, with a focus on collaborative rehearsal processes. Catriona trained at Emil Dale Academy, graduating with a First-Class BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre.

Recent directing work includes the multi-run new writing production DRAMA GIRLS, alongside pantomimes The Wee Mermaid and Hansel & Gretel. Her work has also included sold-out and award-nominated productions at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Alongside her freelance practice, she is Associate Director (Youth & Creative Projects) at Reconnect Theatres, where she leads Reconnect Academies Youth School, directs youth productions, and supports the company’s professional output. She is currently developing her first original play, Where’s The Manual?

Directing, for me, is like putting together a jigsaw—finding the big picture while playing with all the little details that make a story work.

She is especially drawn to female-driven stories and loves exploring themes like relationships, women’s health, and the imperfect moments of growing up. She also loves working with young people and getting more involved in children’s theatre, helping them discover their confidence and creativity. Collaboration is a huge part of Catriona’s process, and she encourages actors to bring their ideas into the room so we can build something together. She aims to make a space that feels thoughtful and welcoming for everyone involved.
